Around London – week 28

Hello, so last week I’ve been meeting with friends and fellow creatives in and around London, and of course continuing to visit the many galleries.

This is Llew, he’s also from West Wales, he is a music producer and rapper, with a theme of positivity and bettering the world around him, very positive and am looking forward to hearing more and more of his music, have a listen to some of his work here.

Next another great friend Ignasi, it was great to have a few beers and visit some galleries around London with you, hope you enjoyed your stay and to see you again soon, and lots of your illustration work, we we’re at university together, he’s a great illustrator from Barcelona, check out his website here www.pisupaints.com

I discovered “The Skip Sisters”, who source their materials from skips, and recycle it into art, a great way to re-invent objects and add value to something previously seen as worthless, I am looking forward to visiting their studios soon http://www.skipsisters.co.uk/

Meet Alexander Calder, I have to say this was one of my favourite exhibitions of all time, hosted by the Tate modern a world class contemporary art galler. Calder’s work is simple and beautiful, he creates mobils, like a child might have above their cote, to help them sleep, but these are organic shapes and perfectly harmonious, hanging and captivating. Take a look at the exhibition here http://www.tate.org.uk/whats-on/tate-modern/exhibition/alexander-calder-performing-sculpture.

Well that’s it for another week, and I should be getting on with making some art, you’ll see next week.
