China seaside

So I’m travelling in China, committed to not flying, currently in Pingtan. Have to say it is nice here, interesting things to see, such as;

Am not sure the story behind this metal hulk, but it is an impressive thing to see.

Spend the night in a emergency boat, with air con!

Good idea, rent out tents on the beach, though I know only too well hot these things get in the sun.

Hunting for sea creatures under the shadow of a sea of wind turbines.

So bought my ferry tickets from China to Taiwan today, going to enjoy another day by Pingtan seaside and then hop and skip across to Taiwan for a week.

Just incase anyone is down or over this way, I’d like to recommend this rural guest house, 5 mins to the sea, and very helpful, friendly, with an English speaking manager, here’s the guest house, in case your in the area Blue Tear Guest House.

Here is a link to my route, thanks to the website RometoRio everything is in English and this gave me some generally quite reliable directions, though not the fine details, when I was trying to get around on the ground I had to ask, people, in the context of having almost no Chinese, I was still to by learning the place name I wanted and having a map handy and the name in Chinese ready also.

Didi, which is an iOS and Android taxi app works fine here in the sticks, so makes it really easy to get a taxi and the mobile data internet is fairly consistent, so thank you technology!

I have been making art, will do a separate post soon for that.

Thanks for reading.
